School House Newsletter - Start up of 2024

Greetings to our School House hostel families and welcome to the first newsletter for 2024

Welcome

Greetings to all our School House families and a warm welcome to our new families who have joined us for the first time in 2024.  Happy New Year.  Here is some helpful information for the start of the year.  

Arrival Times:

ALL students to arrive in full school uniform as per our usual start of term protocols - 

Sunday 28th January - Year 9s and Year 13s return to Hostel from 2pm onwards.  We understand some siblings may also arrive which is fine.  Prefects to arrive by 12pm if possible.

BBQ -there will be a BBQ on the go for all parents arriving on Sunday afternoon for a little snack and drink on us.

Monday 29th January - Year 9 and Year 13 Start of Term 1, and Year 10s return to hostel.

Tuesday 30th January - Year 10s start school, and Year 11s and 12s return to hostel. No school for Year 13s.

Wednesday 31st January - Full School Day.

Future Dates:

Friday 2nd February -Monday 5th February - Year 9 Hostel Camp (Hostel will stay open as usual)

Tuesday 6th February - School Closed - Waitangi Day (Hostel will stay open)

Wednesday 7th February - School Athletics Day

School House Hostel Prefects Camp

Last weekend our student leaders spent time together with Mr Mahutariki and staff setting the foundation for their leadership as a group.  They set some goals and began some professional development for the year.  We are looking forward to working with them in 2024.

Labeling Clothing

This is a friendly reminder to ensure all of our boys clothing items are labelled. Here are some online companies as per below links to try if you wish. Also at the Bottom is Embroideme in Dunedin who do iron on options. You can use permanent marker to label clothing also.
