Hostel Happenings

We have enjoyed another short week, having had a holiday on Monday, 27th, due to ANZAC Day falling on the weekend.

Thank you to all our boys who attended the ANZAC Dawn Service on Saturday and represented the hostel with both pride and dignity. The overall vibe around the hostel is very positive, and it has been a good start to the term.

Congratulations to the OBHS 2nd XV, which is notably made up with large number of hostel boys. Your effort and decorum were witnessed, and we acknowledge your fine performance during your battle against Southland Boys last week. Managing to maintain the equilibrium and secure a 27-all result was highly commendable and a sign of things to come for your season.

Junior Man of the Week is Jack Turner, who shines with his wonderful can-do attitude and his consistent good manners. He is always respectful to other boys and staff. Keep it up, Jack.

Senior Man of the Week is Al Nicolson. Al goes above and beyond in being helpful around the hostel. He is always cheerful, eager to please, and gives everything his very best shot. Thanks, Al.

A special mention to Lennix Hill, who recently achieved Excellence in Social Studies, and whose overall effort grades are continuing to improve. Great work, Lennix! Well done to Eli Hellyer who scored an E7 in his French which is very impressive, bon resultat. Keep reaching for the stars boys!

The builders are working hard on the bathroom renovations, and the relining of Hawthorne is now complete. Painting is now underway, and they are working towards completing this bathroom by the end of next week.

Lastly, we look forward to hosting some of the Christ’s College boys on Sunday evening as they prepare for their interschool match against us on Monday.
