International Student Welcome

It may have been the last week of term but it is never too late to have a formal welcome to Dunedin for our international students.

Thirteen international students from OBHS, and more from other Dunedin secondary schools, made the short trip to Puketeraki for a morning of welcome and kai.

The students were warmly welcomed by Kāti Huirapa Rūnaka ki Puketeraki and also by Councillor Christine Garey on behalf of the Dunedin City Council. The morning was a great opportunity for students to experience a formal marae welcome for the first time and learn more about Māori customs and the history of the local area.

A great educative opportunity but also an opportunity to meet and share contacts and experiences with other international students. Big thanks to Enterprise Dunedin staff for the organisation of the event.
