We would like to welcome our German exchange students to Otago Boys’ High School.
After a weeks delay due to military action in the Middle East, our 4 exchange students finally arrived safe and sound on Wednesday. They hit the ground running and joined us for classes on Thursday and are busy integrating into our way of life both at school and at home . Wearing a school uniform for the first time has likely been the strangest feeling but they all look the part and are hard to distinguish from the rest of the brotherhood.
If you see them around, feel free to introduce yourself and if you are learning German, get some practice in with these boys!
I am Gabriel Wolf aged 16, from Germany. I will stay for 5 weeks as an exchange student here. I love football and music and am looking forward to the experience and discovering Kiwi culture and the country in general. I hope to improve my English language as well and learn some Kiwi slang!
Hi! My name is Benjamin Seitz and I am from Munich, Germany. I will be visiting Otago Boys' High School for the next six weeks as part of a Germany-New Zealand exchange program. I am 15 years old and play football for fun. My reason for coming to New Zealand is to improve my English and learn more about your culture.
My name is Lukas Leimgruber and I am from Regensburg in Germany. I am visiting Otago boys high school for the next five weeks because I am doing a Germany-New Zealand exchange. I am 15 years old and play Volleyball and the piano. My purpose for coming to New Zealand is to improve my English and learn about your culture.
Hi, my name is Maxi Tschaban and I am from Nürnberg in Germany. I am participating in a German-New Zealand exchange and I’m glad to be here at OBHS. My first impression is that the people here are so friendly and open-minded and the nature, especially in the South Island, is so beautiful. My first days in school were easier than expected because the teachers and my classmates helped me to integrate. I’m looking forward to experiencing more of the Kiwi lifestyle.
