Swapping the whiteboard for wilderness, one of our teachers is off on a truly wild assignment.
I’ve taken a couple of weeks break from teaching to help make a 2 part TV series on Zealandia the lost continent for a German/ NZ production. I’ll be based on Anchor Island in Fiordland for the next 2 weeks while I film a variety of sequences around kākāpō. This year is set to be the biggest breeding season ever recorded for the endangered species with the first chick hatching on Valentine’s Day.
I’m currently in Te Anau going through quarantine where DOC ensure no seeds or viruses of any kind get onto the island.
Luckily we do have wifi on the island so I will be able to check that work is being done back at school!
