Athletics Report 2026

It was a great day despite the doubtful weather at the start.

There were fantastic house colours being shown off and great participation across the houses. It was the possibly the busiest day ever on the track.

The competition between the Houses was fierce from the outset. Huge numbers lined up for the 100m and 200m. Each house across the board had at least 3 races for every age group with only the fastest 8 overall qualifying for the afternoon’s finals. This set the tone for the day in both field and track events with large numbers competing across the board.

With the staff fully engaged measuring, timing, and recording results and the house colours standing out in the grandstand the time seemed to fly by. The annual 100kg, 100m race was well received by the crowd.

Liam Grey was a star on the day winning the under 15 high jump taking the new record to 1.81m. A huge crowd gathered as he attempted 1.83m.

As always, the blue ribbon 200m and 100m finals brought the crowd to its feet and was quickly followed by the house relays.

All students were competing to the best of their ability also with house points on the line in all events. There was competitiveness, encouragement and lots of enjoyment throughout the day. Well, done to everyone for the spirit shown and the effort maintained in the warm conditions on the day.

It was awesome to see so many parents there to watch their sons compete.

In the end, Park House came through comfortably with McIndoe 2nd, Saxton 3rd and Aspinall in last position.
