This week, we hosted two successful showcase evenings celebrating the culmination of the hard work by students participating in our ASPIRE programme.
This initiative aims to extend the learning of some of our top academic students. Both the Year 9 and Year 10 events highlighted the commitment and intellectual growth shown through these students’ final projects.
Year 10: Extended ASPIRE Essays (Wednesday)
The Year 10 event, held in the Library, featured excellent discussions around the students’ extended essays. The depth of research and analytical skill displayed was highly impressive. The academic rigour of the topics chosen, and their execution, demonstrated a level of thought that would not look out of place in a PhD thesis.
Year 9: ASPIRE Talks (Thursday)
The Year 9 students engaged the audience in the Auditorium with their TED Talk-style presentations. Working in small groups, they presented their topics with clarity and confidence. Their presentations were both insightful and engaging, showcasing independent research, critical thinking, and formal presentation skills—a testament to their academic growth this year.
For a sense of the complexity of the topics covered in both the Year 10 essays and the Year 9 talks, please see the attachments provided with this newsletter.
We extend our sincere congratulations to all students for the excellent academic and personal growth they have demonstrated throughout the ASPIRE programme.
