Once again, our blood donation day on the 21st of October saw many Year 12 and 13 students answer the call, with many of the Year 13 students having donated previously.
Students were transported to the NZ Blood Service via minivan for their donation.
The NZ Blood Service followed up with an email shortly afterwards, in which they outlined the following verbatim:
“…Our staff were especially complimentary of the students — not only for their willingness to donate, but also for the respectful and considerate way they conducted themselves throughout the day. Their behaviour and the way they supported one another was a credit to Otago Boys’ High School and its values…”
This selfless and humble act of service saves many unknown lives in our community. It upholds our school’s greatest tradition, to hōnore (honour) through service to our community.
