Dunedin Secondary Schools Junior Futsal - 30 October

Played on the same night as our school prizegiving, the futsal games showcased some outstanding skill and intensity.

The evening kicked off with a top-quality clash between the top Year 9 and Year 10 teams - both determined to claim the title of Junior 1st Five team.

The Year 9s made a strong start, racing out to a three-goal lead. A tactical switch for the Year 10s, moving Connor Sinclair into goal, sparked a remarkable comeback. Despite their surge in momentum, they couldn’t quite find the equaliser, with the Year 9s holding on for a thrilling 5-4 victory.

The excitement didn’t stop there. Division 2 featured another derby as ‘Craven Some Wins’ took on ‘The Streets’. The Streets looked in control early, leading 3-0, but couldn’t maintain their advantage - conceding a last-second goal to end in a dramatic 5-5 draw.

Elsewhere, the Div 2 ‘Knights’ battled to a gritty 2-1 win, while the Social team cruised past John McGlashan in the social grade.

A huge thank you to the parents who helped get their sons from futsal straight to the prizegiving - a true show of commitment and support!
