This award is presented to an up-and-coming male swimmer aged 16 years old or younger, who has excelled during the nomination period.
Neo Salomonsson of Kiwi Swim Club has had a phenomenal year, breaking 16 Otago age group records and setting a New Zealand age group record in the 100m butterfly.
Neo dominated regional competitions, winning multiple titles at the Otago and South Island Champs, and earned top podium finishes at the NZ Short Course and Age Group Championships. His versatility across strokes and distances is matched by his dedication - volunteering as a swim coach and timekeeper at Special Olympics events.
Neo’s achievements and character make him a standout recipient of the Emerging Swimmer of the Year award.
