Congratulations to the following students who have this week been named Students of the Term for Term 2.
Year 9 - Connor Horne
A top academic, Connor is hard-working, incredibly polite, focused on success, respectful of and respected by his peers, and delightful in his interactions. He holds himself to high standards, but he never lets his high standards take away from being a decent person. Always wanting to extend himself, Connor asks what’s next or what more he can do and can have good discussions on why one method might be better than another. He is always helpful in class - helping others and the teacher.
Year 10 - Duncan Guest
Duncan is a very mature and focused student who others look up to. He always sets a good example and participates fully in everything. Duncan has put in an incredible effort in German during the first half of the year, which was made even more challenging due to a clash with other subjects. He has demonstrated outstanding resilience, making himself available to attend tutorials and showing a great willingness to revisit his work to improve from Merit to Excellence. As well as this, Duncan is a respectful and likeable young man.
Year 11 - Hossein Shirzad
Hossein works very hard in class and gives 100% all the time. Willing to take responsibility and step out of his comfort zone. He is a polite, interested and engaged student who strives to achieve highly. He is a current NCEA Centurion, having passed 100% of his achievement standards this year. Living the Above the Hoops code by consistently scoring 4's and 5's on his Indicator Reports is a testament to his determination to succeed.
Year 12 - Ben Glover
Ben is a fine all-round young man. He lives the school values, striving to be the best version of himself both in the classroom and on the sports field. He has a clear vision of what he wants to achieve at OBHS and is setting out to do this in a focused and positive manner. His transformation is exceptional and deserves to be recognised.
Year 13 - Finn Marshall
Finn is such a standout student. He is humble, mature and looks out for others. He is an outstanding Saxophone player and an Excellence student.
Finn has really grown to become a more confident young man whose focus is always on serving his community and helping others. He is an example to all boys at OBHS and is the epitome of Honour. Leading the Jazz Band, he has a hand up not out attitude for any cultural activity.
