Do you want to help train the next generation of search and rescue volunteers?
Youth Search and Rescue Dunedin are looking for volunteers who can help train our group of highly motivated and enthusiastic youth in search and rescue techniques. If you have skills and experience in any of these areas, we would love you to get in touch:
Survival skills
Navigation
Bush craft
Radio comms
Search and rescue techniques
First aid
Emergency response
Outdoor education
Emergency Management
FENZ, Police, St. Johns, Surf Lifesaving, Coastguard, Scouts
The curriculum, planning, and resources are all provided. You just turn up and teach. Not only can you impart your own life-saving knowledge and skills to our Tamariki, but you can also meet and learn from the other instructors and volunteers from other sectors.
Time commitment
Classroom teaching alongside other instructors on Wednesday nights 7-8.30pm during first 3 school terms, six weekend training exercises throughout the year (approx. one per month Mar – Sep), and an end of year exercise in October, all shared with other instructors.
Requirements
Experience in one or more areas above, living in or near the Dunedin area, full driver license, and a clean police vet.
