This week the Year 13 Tourism class enjoyed a true Dunner Stunner as they made their way around cultural and natural attractions in the city.
After a short drive up to the summit of Mount Cargill, the boys headed down to the Organ Pipes, magnificent geological pillars created by the volcanic formation of the Otago Peninsula. After clambering to the top, on a cloud free day,the boys were treated to the most spectacular panoramic views.
After lunching at the University Union and having a stroll around the campus, we headed out to Sandfly Bay, on the Peninsula. After a rapid descent of the sandhills the boys were lucky enough to witness a sea lion encounter. One particular young sea lion took an interest in Jake Ward and began shuffling, at some speed toward him, sending the boys, at some speed, back up the sandhill!
A quick stop at the Larnach Castle gates completed our excursion. The boys will now use the information gathered to complete their assessment on "NZ as a Tourist Destination."
