Each year, the Otago Boys' High School Prefect team retains the option to appoint an additional prefect later in the year.
This year, we are proud to announce the appointment of a new prefect who has continually demonstrated leadership, commitment, and excellence across all areas of school life. Liam Elder was the closest to being selected during the initial round when the first 14 prefects were named, and since then, he has continued to step up and earn his place within the team.
A former student of Balmacewen Intermediate, Liam has achieved NCEA Level 1 and Level 2 with Excellence. He is both a Bronze and Silver Centurion, has contributed over 300 hours of service through the Student Volunteer Army, and has represented the school in multiple sports teams. Beyond his athletic and academic achievements, he has also given back by assisting in academic tutorials and playing a key role on the formal committee.
It is with great pleasure that we welcome Liam Elder as the newest member of the 2025 Prefect Team. We look forward to his continued contributions and leadership within our school community.
