Next Friday (16 March) we will celebrate Pink Shirt Day.
Pink Shirt Day is a national initiative with the aim of eliminating bullying by celebrating diversity and promoting kindness and inclusion. You can find out more about Pink Shirt Day at their website: pinkshirtday.org.nz.
On Pink Shirt Day, students are encouraged to wear something pink along with the rest of their uniform. For example, they could wear a pink tie, pink socks, a pink shirt, or add a pink accessory. Students are also invited to bring along a donation towards the cause.
It is a good chance to learn a bit about what bullying is, how it can affect people at school and at work, and to think about the ways we can all be upstanders and call out bullying when we see it. Together we can make the world a kinder place!
