Ministry of Education Reporting to Parents

As you may have heard through the media, a new Parent Portal has been launched by the Ministry of Education to help parents and whānau stay connected with their child’s learning and school.

At this stage, the majority of the content is focused on the refreshed Years 0–8 curriculum areas, but as this expands into the senior curriculum from next year, it will become an important resource for us in high school as well.

"As the national curriculum continues to be refreshed over the next few years, we’ll keep adding a wide range of activities designed to cater to different year levels and learning needs. Our goal is this section of the education website becomes a tool for every family, regardless of their child’s learning journey or language needs". MOE

One current feature of note is the information for parents and caregivers about the NCEA Co-requisite Assessment in literacy and numeracy. This can be found here, and we strongly encourage you to engage with this resource alongside your son if they are entered in the upcoming assessment tasks in Weeks 4 and 5 this term.
