Hostel Update

We have had a busy and successful start to the 2025 school year, although it perhaps feels like the first term has evaporated.

Congratulations to each one of our Year 9 boys for making the personal adjustments required to manage and embrace life at School House.

Pitt cricket has once again proved to be a popular action packed activity. After an intense battle amongst the heartiest of competitors and some awesome manoeuvres we are excited to announce that the winners were Nicolson House.

Another call out to any hostel parents who may have access to tussocks or native plants. If you have plants you’d like to donate to our hostel garden, we would greatly welcome your contribution. Please bring them along when you return your sons on Sunday, 27 April. These can be stored outside the Prep room against the wall facing Nicholson. Please make sure each plant is in a suitable plastic bag, or container, with their roots bedded into some soil or potting mix so they can survive before they are planted, thank you.

Please start taking and collecting favourite photographs, we will be having a Hostel Best Photo Competition early next Term. More details to come.

Thank you to Atu and Leah for organising so many fun weekend events for the boys this term. Attending rugby matches, basketball games and mastering card games have all been popular options and added variety to weekends in town.

Congratulations to our Man of the Week, Flynn Jenkinson. Flynn is our youngest hostel boy but he's noticeably becoming more independent. We are proud of your personal development and maturity this term Flynn. Keep it up!

WINTER SURVIVAL KITS:

Please supply your son with his own Strepsils or a throat lozenge of his choice, Vitamin C or Multivitamins, Tissues, Nasal Spray, cough mixtures and Panadol. Bed socks or a wheat bag are great for extra warmth on those cold frosty nights to come.

A reminder to parents to let the hostel know what day and approximate time your son is returning for Term 2. School House will be open from 1 pm Sunday, 27 April.
