Moana pool was the scene for this year’s swimming sports day. The boys were excited about showing their skills off and competing against each other and the clock.
Neo Salomonsson was the star of the day with five records in backstroke, freestyle and–probably his favourite stroke–butterfly. Every time he set for a race there appeared an expectation that he would beat the old times of some impressive swimmers, some who had gone on to represent NZ at Commonwealth and Olympic games.
Toby Hill was too strong in the U-16 age group, winning each of his races across the whole programme. Declan Roulston also cleaned up in the U-14 age, and in the process broke the 50m fly record, setting a new time of 30.34s.
