Hostel update

By OBHS Hostel | Posted: Thursday March 27, 2025

This is a shorter newsletter this week in conjunction with a shorter week.

It is hard to believe we are already into week nine with just two to go until the end of Term One.

A reminder that school will be closing for tuition at 1pm on Friday, 11 April. This is to allow parent/teacher interviews for hostel students to be held. You will have received information on how to book interviews for your son.

We are very happy to announce the safe arrival of... two healthy new pool tables. These are very welcome additions to the Year 13 common room and the games room. We are sure they will be well loved and utilised.

The rowing boys are currently battling it out at the Maadi Cup and a variety of other sports are in the middle of Secondary Schools Tournament Week.

The new Backroad jerseys have arrived for our Year 9 boys, just in time for winter.

Remember to check your emails and return the attached forms if you want your son to have a flu vaccination and their meningitis vaccine. Also, if you are not currently enrolled at the Maori Hill Clinic, please consider the benefits of doing so and return the enrolment forms as soon as possible. Thank you.

Congratulations to our Man of the Week Thomas Helm, for prioritising his schoolwork and making a conscientious effort to improve his effort grades. Thomas has received outstanding compliments from his teachers as well as hostel staff. It is a pleasure to see him stepping up as a senior student. Impressive! Keep up the good work, Thomas.
