OB's captain Ollie Turnbull won the toss and elected to bowl first on Littlebourne in the teams first defence of the Heathcote Williams Shield.

Opening bowler Harry Bezett rewarded his Captain, taking the first 4 wickets for as many runs in his first spell. Oak Chisholm 3/8 and Sam Drake 2/15 also picked up wickets as SBHS were all out for 58 in 30.5 overs.

In response OB's got off to a positive start through Ollie and Sam Brophy before Ollie was out LBW for 21. Alfie, Charlie and Ashton all came and went, while Sam kept his temperament at the other end. It was Matt Parker (25) who joined Sam at the crease and the pair shifted momentum and put on a 70 run partnership. Toby (19) then joined Sam and they added another 50 run partnership as the runs started to build. Jack Ussher also joined in on the runs with 40* before Sam was eventually caught for 87 off 136 balls, an innings which was highlighted by some lovely drives and cracking pull shots. Finlay Williamson joined Jack at the crease and added 28 of his own. Showing the depth in the batting order.

Ultimately on the last over of the day OB's was bowled out for 269 off 60.4 overs.

On day 2 after rain in the morning it was a delayed start, and the SBHS openers made their intentions clear of trying to bat out the rest of the days play for the draw. They did take an hour and 20 mins out of the game before losing their first wicket to Oak Chisholm. But it was the spinners who really turned things around with Finlay taking his second 5 wicket bag in the Interschool season with figures of 5 for 29 off 14.1 overs. Alfie (2/19), Ollie (2/7) and Oak (1/5) were the other wicket takers in the innings.

OBHS ended up winning by an innings and 132 runs.
