On day 1 wickets fell in quick succession as the Bishopscourt wicket offered the bowlers swing and seam throughout the day.

The OB's juniors were bundled out for 69. Azlan Khan (17) and year 9 Oliver McCall (12) were the main sources of resistance.

However, going into bowl OBHS rallied and made the most of the bowler friendly conditions and bowled SBHS juniors out for 74 in 31.5 overs. Reicher Barnes 3/8, Oliver McCall 3/9, Myles Nicol 2/19 were the pick of the bowlers in the first innnings.

In the second innings the team worked hard to give themselves a score to defend. Callum Wilson was the mainstay of the innings with 28 off 89 balls supported with contributions by Myles Nicol (17), Will Deerness (17) and Archer Stuart (16) meant that the boys were eventually all out for 140 (57ov). Meaning Southland Boys' needed 136 runs to win.

In the final innings all three outcomes of a win, a loss or a draw were in play until OB's got the last wicket with only 20 minutes to spare. Reicher Barnes was again impressive with the ball with 4/11, year 9 leg spinner Will Deerness took 3/38 and took a game defining catch at short cover off Reicher's bowling to swing the momentum back to OB's while Harry Moir was also crucial taking 2/14.

Final result: OBHS win by 15 runs. Overall, it was a great match and a real team effort, Congratulations boys. Thanks to coach Gus Holt for taking the team.
