We are very happy to report that we have had less sick boys this week and much improved effort grades. Well done boys.
Congratulations to the cricket boys on their history making success against Christ's College. OBHS won outright and now hold the prestigious New Zealand Cricket Williams Shield for the first time ever. Good luck to our rowing crews for this weekend at the South Island Regatta, the strenuous build up towards the Maadi Cup is relentless.
On Wednesday night we enjoyed a dinner exchange with St Hilda's Collegiate which was the source of much excitement and frivolity. This was a valuable lesson on being polite hosts, although some boys found it a bit of a push being expected to chat with their female guests. Thanks to Donna and the kitchen staff for their extra efforts with catering.
Hostel staff have been busy preparing for the Wanaka Show this weekend where we will be showcasing all the benefits of being a boarder at Otago Boys' School House.
Indisputably the School House boarding experience grows boys into young men with greater resilience and independence, A place where they are immersed in a diverse variety of opportunities and challenges. We ask you to be proactive about encouraging new enrolments for next year please. Word of mouth is our most powerful tool. If you know anyone who could possibly be keen to board, please approach them directly. If we all try to encourage potential boarders School House will continue to thrive.
Interested in boarding? Where to from here? Record your details through the QR code below. Attend the Hostel open day on the 23rd of May. Ask to pop in for dinner one night to meet the team and the boys.
We welcome all interested families to make contact with John Hedges (Manager) 022 495 6303 or phone Susan Landels (Matron) on 03 477 5109 to arrange the best time for a visit and a chat.
