It is mind blowing to think we are already halfway through Term One, which ends on Friday, 11 April.
The hostel boys enjoyed an exciting atmosphere at the stadium on Saturday night, vocally encouraging the epic win as the Highlanders dealt to the Blues. How good!
Laser Tag was a popular activity option too, and it kept the boys challenged and entertained. It was hard to tell who had the best time, Atu and Seb or the boys.
Phase two of the hostel car park redevelopment is now underway and is looking good. Well done Howie, showcasing more of your great building skills.
New Hostel Prefects
Congratulations to our four new School House prefects. Izaah Iosefo (Juniors Liaison), Kaiau Karena (Music and Arts), Tamati Taylor (Culture) and Sam Asher (Academic).
We look forward to witnessing their leadership skills thrive as role models. More prefects will be announced shortly.
Man of the week
Jahziel Lafita-Kadavaki is this week’s Man of the Week. Hard work, focus and commitment to his love of rugby league has seen Jah identified and asked to train with an Australian Rugby League Club. Congratulations Jah and we hope you enjoyed the experience.
Vaccinations
Maori Hill Clinic would like to offer their services and come up to the hostel to vaccinate the boys before the oncoming flu season which officially starts April 1st, believe it or not!
There could be some boys needing their meningitis vaccines too. Hostel students are entitled to have these funded. Please email Susan directly on [email protected] with your decision on this option.
Note from Matron
Here’s a favourite quote of mine from Henry Ford.
“Whether you think you can,
Or you think you can’t,
Either way you’re right!”
Please pass on to your sons that your attitude and belief system can largely determine your outcomes. I am really enjoying the privilege of getting to know and work with your boys.
A reminder please do not hesitate to phone the hostel with any questions or feedback anytime.
Kind regards
Susan Landels
