It has been great to see so many people in the library this week!
It is proving to be a popular hub for our students to gather before school to catch up and ready themselves for the day. On any given break time we have students using the space to read, play board games, get up to date with their school work, and sometimes just finding a quiet moment to themselves.
Our team of student librarians will be working the issues desk from next week onwards. They are a fantastic group who have put their hands up to help out, and they continue to help me ensure the library is a safe and welcoming place.
All students should have received a link to the library catalogue this week, as well as a password to access their personal lending account. Any questions about this can be directed to me either by email - [email protected] - or in person at the library desk.
Finally, I just want to remind everyone again of the importance of developing good reading habits this year. A minimum of 10 minutes a day spent reading will set you on a path to success. Next week we will roll out our first reading challenge of the year - a good opportunity to push yourself and step outside of your comfort zone, with rewards up for grabs for our keenest readers.
My job is to put the right book into your hands, so if you don’t know where to start with finding a book you will love, please come and see me! If there is a book we don’t have that you want, please let me know and I will get it in as soon as possible.
