On our recent Teacher Only Day, staff engaged in professional development to enhance teaching strategies and boost literacy across the curriculum.
Workshops explored effective methods for integrating literacy skills, such as comprehension and sentence-level work, into lessons across all subjects. Another session focused on the science of learning, with insights into brain development, memory, and engagement strategies specifically aimed at supporting boys' learning.
Kate Hope, our literacy coordinator, also shared recent structured literacy practices being trialled by teachers Emma Moore, Charlie Scott, and Jacqueline Irving as part of our school-wide literacy initiatives.
Teachers left these sessions equipped with practical strategies to improve literacy outcomes across the school.
