The Otago Boys’ High School Parents' Association is looking for new members!

By OBHS Parents Association | Posted: Thursday November 7, 2024

We warmly welcome parents and caregivers to join the Otago Boys’ Parents' Association.

We are a well-organised and friendly group who meet for an hour on a Thursday evening approximately once a month. Most meetings are attended by our Rector, Richard Hall, and we know the Parents Association has the support and appreciation of the OBHS staff.

Attending these meetings is an opportunity to get to know other parents, keep up to date with what's happening at school, and to support OBHS practically in a way that benefits all our boys. Recently, our fundraising efforts have secured a new school van, fridge / freezer units for Food Technology, a thicknesser for Woodwork, iPads for English, and the House Points board displayed in the canteen. The Parents Association looks after the second-hand uniform shop - buying and selling, with all profits going to the school. We also assist with social occasions such as the Open Night and we award grants.

We wanted to highlight that our Treasurer is with us for one more year and is looking to train a new person in the role. If you are interested in this position or have any questions about our group, please email: [email protected]

On behalf of the PTA,

Rose Thurlow (Secretary)

Karen Begg (Treasurer)
