Neo Salomonsson took full advantage of the school holidays, combining a well-earned rest with a trip to Christchurch and swimming.
His dedication to improving upper body strength over recent months paid off, as he set a New Zealand age group record in the 100m butterfly for 15-year-old males in short course racing.
Neo touched the wall in an impressive 55.75, trimming 0.13 seconds off the previous record.
In addition to other great swims and personal bests, he also broke the Otago Record in 50m freestyle.
