Can you believe we are already halfway through term 3?
This term is flashing by in the blink of an eye! The hostel has had another smooth week with winter sports coming to an end. Last Sunday, the junior activity was Ten Pin Bowling at Bowline in Kaikorai Valley. The boys enjoyed some friendly competition and a break away from the boarding house. Thank you to our Senior students for helping supervise!
Monday and Tuesday were particularly busy, but most importantly, exciting nights for our hockey boys! Congratulations to the U15 Blues and 1st XI teams for winning their respective grade and well done to those teams who played incredibly well on Monday night. It was fantastic to transport most of the hostel boys to the games to cheer on and support our hockey teams.
On Wednesday night we hosted another inter-house competition, this time featuring an indoor rowing race. Each house group selected two boys from each year level to row 500 metres each. While it might sound straightforward, strategy played a key role in deciding when each boy would take their turn rowing. Congratulations to Campbell for taking out first place, Thomson for second place, Hawthorne for third place and Nicholson for fourth place.
This week's 'Man of the Week' goes to George West. George is a pleasure to have around the boarding house. He is always willing to help out and lend a hand where possible! George gives 100% in everything he does and is always up for a chat. Well done George, keep up the good work!
This Sunday, our junior boys will enjoy a fun-filled activity session at the Edgar Centre starting at 10:30am. The day will be packed with exciting games, including zorb ball challenges, volleyball, and basketball. It’s a great opportunity for the boys to bond, stay active, and have a blast!
