At the beginning of Year 9 Art we focused on drawing skills.

The animal drawings are some of the artworks for the end of this unit of learning. They demonstrate perseverance and strong skills the students are building and utilising in art with excellent results.

In Year 9 Art at the end of term, we looked at German Expressionism, portraits and a form of relief print-making called a wood-cut. The students made their own self-portrait using these methods. This is a selection of the many successful outcomes for this area of learning.

Year 10 Art

Some examples of successes in 10 Art this year.

The Year 10 Art "Text as Value" project  begins with a focus on drawing skills. The students design an image around a social or historical issue. They use words related to their image and layer these as a drawing method to communicate their ideas.

The students in 10 Art develop their observational drawing skills, painting skills (and eating skills) with cake as their subject matter.
