Gateway Placement 2024 Ollie Lambert

In Gateway, I chose to go into the field of an electrician, and I was lucky to be hosted by Jarrod Ramsey at his company Lees (Limitless Electrical & Energy Solutions).

Every Wednesday morning at 8.30am I meet up with Jarrod and start the day. 

I've learnt heaps of new skills, like fitting power points and plugs to threading wires which will help me in the future with my goals in life. 

Jarrod is a one-man team, so he picks what jobs he does each day. We go all over the place from working at his house to places in Brighton and Kaikorai Valley. I've learnt a lot from the few times I've been out from social skills to practical skills which include:

• Threading cable.

• Learning about wires and what each one does.

• Learning about renewable energy.

• Learning and installing solar panels.

• Installing power points and plugs/sockets.

Throughout Gateway I've had my fair share of social interaction. Doing home jobs and interacting with the homeowner to going to Mitre 10 or Radcliffe and working at different company sites.
