South Island Secondary School Athletics Championships

The South Island Secondary School Athletics Championships were held over the weekend in Timaru, with athletes coming from all over the South Island.

It was a big event for our boys and one they did extremely well in.

A massive congratulations to Ruie Hyslop who took out the South Island U19 3000m title!

We had 15 boys qualify from the Otago SS Champs, with many top 10 finishes, as below.

U19:
Ruie Hyslop 1st 3000m, 3rd 1500m, 4th 800m

U16:
Talvin Williamson 7th 800m

U15:
Ashton Robertson 3rd High Jump, 6th Discus, 7th Javelin
Riley Horne 7th 400m, 10th 200m, 10th Triple Jump
Henry Hodgson 6th 3000m, 6th 1500m, 10th 800m
Will Osborne 9th 800m
Maddox Adamson 7th Long Jump

U14:
Josh Keogh 4th 80m Hurdles, 7th 200m Hurdles
Niko Booth 7th Triple Jump
Will Bolter 7th 1500m, 7th 800m
Zander King 5th 80m Hurdles
Eli Olsen 9th 400m, 9th 800m
Dom Ory 9th 200m

U14 4x100m Relay 5th (Eli Olsen, Niko Booth, Zander King, Dom Ory)

U15 4x100m Relay 5th (Zander King, Riley Horne, Will Osborne, Adam Alqurashi)
