An Otago U16 football team has been selected to head away to the UK and Northern Ireland for a tournament this July, the Northern Ireland Super Cup (formerly Milk Cup).
48 boys from South Canterbury, Oamaru, Central, Southland and Dunedin attended trials at the end of last season. From this a squad of 24 was picked and has been training over summer. The travelling team of 18 has now been selected and 7 of those boys attend OBHS.

In the past, the tournament has had some of the biggest clubs in the world participating, including - Barcelona, Rangers, Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and teams from South America and Asia.
To date 4 teams have been announced for the U16 tournament. Manchester United (England), Rangers (Scotland), Deportivo Toluca FC (Mexico) and Shoshi (Japan).
Past players who have played at this tournament include David Beckham, Wayne
Rooney, Ryan Giggs, Sergio Busquests and many more who have become world
class footballers.
