Rugby League National 9s competition

Over the Easter weekend a number of OBHS students represented Otago at the Rugby League National 9s competition held in Auckland.

The Otago 16 boys finished in 6th place, while the Otago 18 boys finished in bronze medal position, losing just one game in the semi finals by 1 try, and beating Auckland in the 3rd place game. This is the the first time in the history of the competition that an Otago youth representative team has beaten an Auckland team!

A special mention must be made of Mason Lome-Hindle who was named Player of the Tournament.

Otago 16 boys:
Coby Booth, Alex Corbett, Jonathan Tavake, Filipe Vaka'uta and Montell Paulo.

Otago 18 boys:
Micah Puni, Mason Lome-Hindle, Memento Mason, Damian Corbett, Hoani Taimalie, Aaron Fox, Te-Ava Nicholas and Tepuretu Piri.
