Year 13 Biology

By Kent Twaites | Posted: Thursday March 7, 2024

On Thursday, our Year 13 Biology students went on a trip to investigate the differences that human disturbance may have on the biota.

They spent time looking at two streams in the lotic reaches of Dunedin, one disturbed the other not.

We collected this data for our soon to be completed 3.1, Stream Life, 4 credits. The overarching concept is to understand the importance of freshwater systems.

We began at the University and completed the pattern seeking task at Bethunes Gully. A few games, then a BBQ to top off the day.

We are looking forward to marking these reports!

Thanks to Ms Gilks and Mr Golder for your assistance with the trip.
