A message from the Rector

We are nearly halfway through the first term for 2024. It seems a little unreal to be almost into our 6th week.

Sport and cultural activities as well as the academic cycle are accelerating. Last week your child received their first report. I hope you have had the chance to look at it and have spent time discussing the results. For me, in our house, a 3 at the moment is okay, but it won't be in the next report at the end of the term. Any 2 would be a serious concern. Remember to celebrate the scores that were higher than expected, or show an attempt to do well.

Interschools and EOTC activities have also started to increase. Each of these is a significant learning opportunity and we expect that students are fully engaged with them. Costs are increasing for everyone, but we certainly understand that for families it can be difficult. Please remember there is help available in the form of automatic payments etc. It is always better to reach out first if it could be an issue, rather than put it off.

Big grudge match this weekend as the two Year 9 cricket teams go head to head at the Kensington Oval - go the 9 Whites!
