The annual summer interschool fixture with Timaru Boys' High School.

OBHS 1st XI 236 and 130/4 declared

TBHS 1st XI 89 and 167

A win by 110 runs

Batting first on a new Littlebourne track most of the OBHS batsmen made starts but only Jarryd Taig (44) and Declan Su'a (40) made significant scores. The visitors struggled against consistent bowling and were dismissed well behind the follow-on mark. Ben Lockrose bowled well to finish with 4/23 and Declan Su'a kept the pressure on the Timaru Batsmen taking 3/20.

Taine Bayly opted to bat a second time and openers Jarryd Taig (53) and Cameron McAuslan responded with an opening partnership of 90. The quest for quick runs on the second morning saw wickets fall and led to a declaration at 11.00 oclock with TBHS set a target of 278 to win in around 80 overs.

The visitors decided to bat throughout the day and established some stubborn partnerships in each session with opener Sean Wills leading the way with a determined knock of 55. However some quality bowling from Joe Turner (4/28) saw a double breakthrough just before the lunch break to have the visitors 68/5 halfway through the day.

The resistance continued in the afternoon with a series of dogged partnerships frustrating the local bowlers and putting pressure on the fieldsmen. A couple of missed chances saw tension increase as the Tea Break loomed. A timely return to the bowling crease led to Declan Su'a taking the last two wickets and the win was secured.
