The redevelopment of our Tennis Court area on Stuart Street was offically opened for use on Thursday at 1.00pm.
Mr Hall spoke to an audience of students, staff and invited guests to thank the sponsors of the project, and our wider community for their volunteer efforts to complete this stage of the project. Mr Hall also said that the funding was now available for the completion of the re-surfacing of the upper court area, which will begin later this term.
In spite of the wet weather the boys and guests were able to see first hand the impact that this new facility will have on their learning opportunities. The lower courts have an all weather surface and are marked out for a range of sporting activities. The weather proved that the courts will live up to their intended purpose. The upper courts will be resurfaced with Plexipave, which is the same surface that Australia's Tennis Open is played on.
We would like to thank our sponsors for their generous support of this project:
Mitre 10 Mega, Eion and Jan Edgar Charitable Trust, Graeme Marsh, Valspar, Programmed Project Management, OBHS Foundation, Lion Foundation and the Otago Community Trust.
