10T's Week at Camp

10T spent last week at Mount Aspiring.

Mount Aspiring camp was an extraordinary experience full of excitement and opportunities. A non stop adventure that always led to something exciting. On the bus trip there, things were already getting interesting as the scenery quickly changed and as the phone reception was slowly lost we knew we where in for a ripper of a week.

The two day over-night camp was a great experience. We learnt how to make fires and also attempt to cook food, as the teacher left us to it. Our last day on the overnighter did not end as the boys would have liked it to. The river rose and was un-crossable which made the journey back a six hour hike.

Another amazing experience was kayaking down the Matukituki with our outdoor instructor Mr Cooper an ex Otago Boys’ boy.

Over all in my opinion Mount Aspiring is an amazing experience and the scenery is truly unthinkable.
