Recently our 1st Touch team competed in the South Island Secondary Schools Tournament in Christchurch.
A solid first days effort consisting of three wins, a draw and a loss saw the team just miss out on the semi finals. However a disappointing loss to Shirley Boys' on Sunday morning saw our hopes of a fifth place finish (and a possible wildcard to Nationals) disappear. The boys picked themselves up as we demolished Burnside to finish our tournament on a high.
The boys were excellent ambassadors for the school and impressed with their efforts over the weekend. A last hurra for the following boys who have represented the school touch team with pride and skill over the last few years: Kane Johnston, Eddie Grant, Layne Opetaia, Emile Mau'u, Luke Holden, Will McAllister and Josh Hill.
Finally, a big thanks to coaches Matt Brown and Thomas Johnson for all their effort over the season.
