During the school holidays Year 9 student Ollie Bixley took part in the South Island Schools Orienteering Championships in Christchurch.
Ollie came third in the Junior Boys Long Distance at Kairaki and second in the Sprint at Lincoln University.
Over Queens birthday he has been invited to join the South Island Schools team (Southern Tempest) to take part in a regional event in Wellington which doubles as a selection trial for a New Zealand Schools team. Selection for this team is highly contested with only two positions available for students in the Year 9 and 10 level.
