Maori Leaders in Law Workshop

Arguing points of law, disputing facts and deciding guilt or innocence were just three of the aspects of law that several of our senior students experienced at a recent Workshop organised by the Otago University Law Faculty.

Isimeli Tuivala, Oliver Palmer-Hargreaves, Nicholas Griffen, Taina Te Ngahue, and Te Ngaru Wehi were joined by twenty students from other Dunedin schools in a programme designed to develop Maori and Pacific leadership in Law. A similar number of first and second year law students were involved in discussions around the law and study at Otago University.

Led by Professor Jacinta Ruru and Project Co-ordinator Alice Anderson the workshop was a challenging and informative programme for all of the participants.
