Year 11 students having great fun and learning in bright mid-winter sun how to find the height of objects using two very different methods.
One involving traditional trigonometry methods - the old sin, cos and tan buttons getting a good workout on the calculator. The other method involves working two similar proportioned triangles and requires careful measuring of the lengths of shadows cast from the object trying to be measured and comparing this to the shadow cast by one of the boys.
Lots of great team work, cooperation and from the look on the boys faces, a pretty good maths lesson.
