Earlier this term, our junior interschool touch team traveled out to King's to take part in their annual invitational tournament.
After a close fought 2-1 win over SBHS in the opening game, the team went down to KHS A 3-2 in their second game. This meant that we would need to beat KHS B by a margin of 5 tries to make the final. The team played outstanding touch, recording a 6-0 victory. This propelled us into the final against SBHS and gave us a chance to defend our title.
The final was a classic. The boys scored early but then defensive lapses had us 3-1 down at halftime. A fantastic 2nd half defensive effort along with some stunning attacking play saw the scores locked at 4-4 at full time. A drop off!
A superb defensive set kept SBHS on their own 5m line when we got the turnover. The ball was flung wide and we scored in the corner to win the title for the second year running.A fantastic way to end a great day.
