At the Caledonian sports ground on Wednesday, our students showed spirited competition which made the day a success for all students.
Track and field events saw participants compete to the best of their abilities. Enthusiasm was obvious all day, as the race was on to gain maximum points for their houses. Some showed outstanding skill levels; others were eager participants.
Cameron Moffitt obliterated the Under 14 record for Shot Put held by Colin Aitken since 2003. He added more than a metre to the record, moving it from 11.8 to 12.84 metres.
Jackson Toms broke the 2004 record for Under 15 Triple Jump, which was held previously by David Thompson, continuing his success in the lower age group competition from 2016.
Many other records were threatened; but it was participation that hallmarked many events.
It was a commitment to personal best scores led to a highly spirited and enthusiastic atmosphere all day.
