A great start to the first term at the Hostel and the new boys have settled in very well.
The Housemasters and Year 13 boys have been very active with our new and younger boys and have made them feel very welcomed into the hostel brotherhood.
We have eight new boys this year that have or have had, older brothers in the hostel, so I am sure this has had an effect on the Year 9 boys and how quickly they have settled in.
It is always a very busy time of the year with all the activities going on. Interschool tournaments, school camp, athletics day as well as the other activities around the hostel like Moana Pool trips, touch rugby games, darts tournament, mountain biking, beach trips etc and tonight is the first night where the boys will attend a Highlanders game for 2017.
The boys are also busy practicing for the annual Hostel Cultural Night which will be held on the 12 April at 6pm in the school auditorium. They will perform for their parents and grandparents in their respective house groups, the school haka, a song and a skit each. We look forward to their surprises that they always have in store for us.
Just a reminder for all Hostel parents that Otago Anniversary weekend (18th - 20th) is an exit weekend for all boys from the Hostel.
