After interviews and votes, the International Leaders were announced at a special meeting this week.
Louie Cheng has been chosen as the International Student School Leader for 2017.
This is a very important role as there are 40 international students currently at OBHS. They come from a range of different countries: Argentina, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
Louie came to Otago Boys’ from Hong Kong in July of 2015. Since then he has achieved both NCEA levels 1 and 2 with Merit.
Louie loves sport but mostly loves playing the saxophone as well as being with his friends, both at school and the hostel.
Tomoki Nakazono has been chosen as the International Student Hostel Leader for 2017.
This year there are 20 international students living at the hostel.
Tomoki came from Japan in April 2015 and has achieved both NCEA levels 1 and 2. He loves rugby and spends a lot of time improving his fitness and skills, and of course his favourite team is the Highlanders.
