On Monday night Mr Hooper will lead a team of staff in a discussion with Year 13 parents and their sons. I would like to open this to other families who may wish to attend.
The theme of the evening will be on keeping our Year 13 students engaged in all that we offer.
The transition between high school and the next step, be it work, training or tertiary study is difficult. Here we do all that we can to ensure your son is aware of the various opportunities and requirements. As parents too, I think it is important to note that we will have a parent whose son was in Year 13 speaking about the parents' perspective. I know that she will be able to shed light on what it is actually like for parents and how you can help your son.
Even if you feel it is sorted, I urge you to attend, because as the year progresses we often see a boy's rock solid plan dissolve.
The latest set of indicator reports are also ready to be downloaded through the portal. This is the last one for this term so it is important that you take the opportunity to speak to your son about his grades. Remember these are completed by staff to motivate as well as to indicate issues.
