This weekend, OBHS Year 11 student, Jack Fisher, is competing in the New Zealand Gold Guitars Awards in Gore.
The Gold Guitars is a prestigious contest that has been running for 43 years. It attracts performers from around the world, with 700 performers over the different categories, and crowds of over 5000. Jack is already an experienced performer, having placed third in last year's contest.
Jack is a gifted performer and is in for a very busy couple of weeks. As well as the Gold Guitars, next weekend he is performing in the Smokefree Rockquest competition, and a few days later, he will be performing as a member of the OBHS and combined choirs. If this wasn't enough to keep him busy, Jack is also the lead in the combined OBHS/OGHS production of High School Musical.
We wish him all the best for his many performances. I hope many of our school community will be able to see him in action over the next few weeks.
