On Wednesday and Thursday last week, both Year 13 Chemistry classes visited the Otago University to complete the practical work towards their 3.1 internal.
Working in the brand spanking new Mellor Laboratories, the boys used silver nitrate solutions that they made up to analyse water samples from Lake Waihola and the Waipori River.
The aim of the trip was to see how the concentration of salt varies from the sea all the way up the river to the lake.
