Last weekend, Louie Cheng, Boudewijn Keenan, Sean Woo, and Joshua Lewis were involved in the NZCT Chamber Music Contest.
The group, 'Glassical' of Sean Woo on piano, Joshua Lewis on clarinet, and Renee Mullins from Otago Girls' on violin, made it through to the Regional final, and won the adjudicators award for virtuosic performance.
Louie was a finalist last year, and was unlucky to miss out this year, performing very well with the talented Sarah de Vries on clarinet, and Lucy Pollock on piano.
As one of the youngest performers in the contest, Year 9 student Boudewijn Keenan is a fantastic prospect for the next four years in the contest. Boudewijn is an excellent cellist, and is already a member of the Dunedin Youth Orchestra.
Our musicians worked extremely hard for months on what were very difficult pieces. It was a fantastic effort from the groups, and an extra congratulations to Glassical for their award in the final.
